About Swedish Export Credit Corporation
Swedish Export Credit Corporation (SEK) provides sustainable financial solutions to Swedish exporters on commercial terms by granting export credits and direct lending. It also administers the state-supported export-credit system.
SEK plays an important public-policy role in Swedish trade promotion. It was founded in 1962 to strengthen the competitiveness of the Swedish export industry by meeting the need for long-term credits. Sweden’s exports represent almost 50% of GDP and SEK continues to be an important partner for exporters.
Sustainable funding strategy
The market for green bonds provides SEK with a tool with which to earmark capital for a climate-smart economic transition. SEK wants to drive forward development in sustainable business and it does this mainly by setting requirements when lending.
By issuing green bonds, SEK provides financing to projects that support a climate-friendly future and that contribute to the industry’s transition to a society free of fossil fuels.
